Depending on flow direction, there are mainly two types of constructed wetlands:
On the one hand, water flows underground and it goes out on the opposite side while it goes through the filter media, created by gravel, and the plant roots, where the bacterial biofilm contributes to the organic waste degradation. It also helps denitrification.
The water enters the surface through pulses and it flows vertically through the filter media with the plant roots and the bacterial biofilm adhered. They have aeration tubes attached, favouring the contaminant degradation. It requires less area for its installation, it is more efficient and it removes ammonia (nitrification).
The company has also experience in other types of wetlands, such as the superficial flow wetlands and especially in configurations of hybrid wetlands.
